Quotes related to the Trials and Tribulations of Love
These are a list of quotes that are related to the Trials and Tribulations of Love. Underneath each quote, is an explaination of what the quote means or means to us.
"A love forced is a love never obtained" (Flyboy Philosophy #103)
-This is one of my favorite because 1) I made it up and 2) I wrote a one act play based on a situation that I went through. Basically, when your time comes to fall in love, it will happen. You shouldn't force someone to like you because that's now how it love works. If you do that, you will lose the person that you care about. Trust me, I've learned that the hard way many times over. (Neal M.)
"The greatest thing you'll ever learn is to just love and to be loved in return." from Moulin Rouge
-Love is the greatest of all emotions, it's the one that makes you the person you are; it's a reflection of who you are. And if you've been loved in return, then you've fulfilled atleast one of the purposes in your life. There's nothing more greater than feeling loved and loving someone in return. (Nina M.)
"I have said nothing because there is nothing I can say that would describe how I feel as perfectly as you deserve it."
-When you find that special someone it's hard to find the words that encompass all the love you have for them. Almost like you can't find the words to describe them because there aren't enough, or better yet, there aren't words that can describe how you feel about them. (Nina M.)
"You don't love a woman because she is beautiful, but she is beautiful because you love her."
-This means that when you fall in love with a woman, she becomes so beautiful and radiant inside and out.
That maybe when you first meet her, her physcial beauty isn't all that important, but you're in love with her, so it doesn't matter. (Amanda S.)
-I need to comment on this quote because a lot of friends give me s*** when it comes to my selection in girls. You know what? The girls that I went after may not be the sexiest girls around, but I wouldn't trade them for the world. I'll use this old saying, "To one, his own." We are all entitled to our own different tastes whether it be women or other things. The girls that I like happen to be some of the most beautiful girls in my mind. And when you care about someone so much, you could care less what your friends (or sometimes, your parents) tell you. You care what you think and no one can take that away from you. (Neal M.)
"When I was younger in the olden days, what did we give to "woo" women? We gave them Animals, Vegetables, and Minerals. Animals being a Steak and Lobster dinner, Vegetables being flowers, and Minerals being diamonds."
-This quote was one of the funniest things I've ever heard in class. My teacher, Dr. Malina, said it in class, and it's so great that I had to put it on this section. You can't help to realize how much times have changed. (Neal M.)
"Maybe, you are meant to be with someone, but not right now."
-This quote has a lot of meaning to both the person who said it to me and to myself. Honestly, I've had my fair share of rejections whether I over exaggerate or not. Maybe, one of those rejections might be the girl that I end up with, you never know. My cousin, Nina, gave me this quote and said that her cousin told her this. She gave me this quote during the struggles of her relationship with her boyfriend. (Nina M. and Neal M.)
"Girls are like apples on trees. The best ones are on the top of the tree. The boys don’t want to reach for the good ones because they’re afraid of falling and getting hurt. Instead they just get the rotten ones that are on the ground, that isn’t as good, but easy. So the apples on the top thinks that there is something wrong with them, when in reality, they are amazing. That is why we just have to be a bit patient and wait for the right MAN, the one who takes the chance and is not afraid of falling"
-This quote was said by my cousin and points out why some of the best looking girls end up with sub-par guys. Basically, the guys who take chances sometimes get the best girls because they took the chance. It's good to take chances because you don't want to be wondering if that girl you never asked out could have been the one. It's all about taking chances and not being afraid to get rejected. (Justin M., my cousin)
"I know that when I bring up your rejection(s), Neal, it hurts. I'm sorry. It's like adding salt to a wound. But think about this. Doesn't salt hurt at first when you put it on, but in the end, it helps a wound heal?"
-I think my friend was f***ed up when he told me this quote, but it definitely has a good point. It makes me reflect on all the rejections that happened to me. For me, I escape to either my music, songwriting, or school work. But even though you do that, you can't avoid that emptiness you have in your heart. That's what my friend was telling me. But he has a good point about being rejected. When you think about it, it can drive you insane and it definitely hurts. I can attest to that, but it's part of the Trials and Tribulations of Love. It gets annoying to get rejected all the time by girls, I'll admit that, but I know one of these days, the salt I call rejection will heal and in the end, I'll find someone so damn incredible. It's all one big process and it will happen in due time.
"There can be no deep disappointment where there is not deep love." (MLK, Letter from Birmingham Jail), Flyboy Philosophy #135
-If you love something deeply, have an enduring passion, disppointment comes stronger with the failures that pertain to that situation. If you have allowed your love to become superficial, rejection and hard times affect you to a lesser degree. If you have given up on allowing yourself to love completely you think that you cannot get burned - that somhow the pain will be less and in a way it is. The realization that you have become less than a person because you have come to think this way is the worst blow you can actually experience. Without strong perservering love the disappointments that you experience are only fractions of what you could feel if you put your entire soul into your passion (Cary W.)
"Anything less than MAD PASSIONATE love is a waste of time. Life is too full of medicore things and love shouldn't be one of them."
-If you don't love passionately...what's the point in loving at all? A person can only grow through their experiences and the memorable experiences tend to be passionate whether physyically or emotionally. It is directly correlated....Love without passion is like taking a shower without water pressure....it isn't even close to being worthwhile. Love may hurt you when you love so deeply...but love may never happen if you don't give it your all.
(Cary W.)
